Authors will tell you that waiting for the publication of a new book is like expecting the birth of a child. Well, I've been in labor for 8 years now folks! I submitted the first 10 pages of my book When the Magic Finds Them to a writing group and a couple of different publishers and they all told me the same thing. My writing was fun, my characterization was great, but I had a couple of problems. There were way too many key characters in my book. And it was written in third person omniscient. You can see into everyone's thoughts and feelings, not just one main character. Well that was a few years ago, and I put my book in a drawer. Recently I decided that I'd better publish my book myself, or my writing might be stalled forever!! After a lot of research I decided to go with CreateSpace.com for my printer and to become my own publisher Mushroom Manor Publishing so I could obtain my own ISBNs and not have someone else's publishing company make money off my friends, family, and new fans who might purchase my book. If I had chosen a POD I would have been obligated to price my book at around 15.95, (Inconceivable!!). So when I discovered CreateSpace I was thrilled. (And there was much rejoicing)! CreateSpace allows me to price my book low, sell it on Amazon.com or in my own CreateSpace store and give a discount code to people like friends and family. As a matter of fact there is a discount code on this website, so if you've found the code you can purchase my book at 20% off as long as you use the CreateSpace link next to the book on the first page of this website. So, right now I'm waiting for my proof to arrive. I'd like to say the birth part is over.. yep, actually I think it is. Now I'm just waiting for them to put my baby in my arms. I'll inspect him to make sure he has all of his fingers and toes... and yep.. Life is Good!!!!
